Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was born on 14th April, 1891 at Mhow in Madhya Pradesh and he died on 6th December 1956 in Delhi. Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was a jurist, social reformer and politician. He is also known as the Father of Indian Constitution. He fought for the rights of the dalits and other socially backward classes throughout his life. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s real surname was Ambawadekar. But his teacher, Mahadev Ambedkar gave him Ambedkar surname. Babasaheb Ambedkar was appointed as India’s first Law Minister in the Cabinet of Jawaharlal Nehru. He was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1990.
