The most important source of Indian constitution is the Government of India Act 1935. A large part of the provisions of the Indian Constitution have been taken from the Government of India Act 1935, either verbatim or by making a lot of changes according to the people of India. Because Government of India Act 1935 was made for the Indians by the British rule.

The Constituent Assembly studied and evaluated the constitution made in other countries of the world before making the constitution. Then the provisions taken from all those foreign constitutions were changed to suit the country of India and they were included in the Indian Constitution. There are mainly 10 foreign constitutions which are foreign sources of Indian constitution.
